Summit County Criminal Justice Technology Project

Environmental Design Group developed the criteria documents for implementing a design-build project to be completed by the end of 2020. We provided Owner’s Representative services, including scope development, RFP development, route development, and 30% design drawings.

The Summit County Executive Office received CARES Act funding to improve efficiencies in the judicial system while under a work from home order. The County engaged the City of Fairlawn to lead a fiber ring deployment to virtually connect all County judicial facilities throughout the City of Akron. The City of Fairlawn required a fast-track deliverable of the criteria package to meet the overall project schedule.

Out team provided the RFP package and 30% design drawings within the imposed schedule, allowing the City of Fairlawn to receive competitive bids from several reputable firms. Utilizing our relationships in the marketplace, we requested vendors to put aside materials necessary to build the project within the required time frame. Relationships with fiber manufacturers, ONT manufacturers, among others, allowed us to set the project up for success during the fast-tracked construction schedule.
