North Fork Trailhead and Trail

Environmental Design Group prepared design and construction documents in two phases for the 1.6-mile segment of the North Fork trail and its associated trailhead at the Bath Nature Preserve. The firm previously prepared a master plan for the preserve and the greenway associated with North Fork.

The trail follows a meandering alignment through the scenic preserve featuring views of the North Fork, the South Woods, a garden and ponds, as well as the diverse meadow and old field ecology of the preserve. The trail serves as the central spine for the greenway and the trail system within the preserve. The trail includes a pedestrian bridge crossing of the North Fork and an underpass at Cleve-Mass Road, providing an uninterrupted trail to connect the preserve with the community park. The trailhead includes parking for 25 cars and 10 horse trailers. The trailhead includes an orientation and rest area and a separate area for equestrian staging.
