Location

Canton Township, Ohio

IMPACT

This project will provide sanitary sewer service to the Moreland Allotment located in Canton Township. This area was listed as the number one area of concern by the Stark County Health Department due to failing home septic systems, small lots and shallow drinking water wells.

Moreland Allotment Sanitary Sewer System

The H M Franks Moreland Allotment was established circa 1950. The homes are mainly single story, have potable water wells and septic systems. The age of the allotment is such that the existing septic systems are failing at a high rate. The potable water wells are relatively shallow increasing the risk of septic contamination.

Environmental Design Group provided surveying and engineering for the design of a complete sanitary sewer collection system which includes approximately 7,500 linear feet of sanitary sewer, a 250-gpm sanitary pump station, and 3,500 linear feet of forcemain. The complete collection system will provide sanitary sewer service to approximately 200 homes and businesses within the Moreland Allotment and along SR 43 in Canton Township. In addition to the sanitary engineering scope of services, we also provided electrical engineering design and geotechnical services through the use of subconsultants.
