Scope of Services
Environmental Design Group provided site survey, wetland investigations and delineation, campus master planning services and design documents for the Highland Local School District. Centrally located within the heart of the campus, the 5,000-seat stadium was planned to have an artificial turf football/soccer field, eight lane running track, ticket booths, concessions facilities, monumental scoreboard, field house and other amenities. An open space adjacent to the school provided an opportunity to locate the new athletic stadium on the site without severely impacting the surrounding woodlands. The main stadium entry is enhanced by a cathedral of existing trees that flank a pedestrian promenade that leads spectators from nearby parking lots to the stadium.
The site development at the campus took advantage of the natural characteristics of the site. One of the primary objectives was to develop a master plan that would not only serve as the basis for making future decisions about how to best develop the project, but also look to preserve and protect natural areas of the site.
