IMPACT

This restoration project provides another layer to the park experience with wildlife viewing – ducks, waterfowl and amphibians that now have a home.

Fairlawn Park Oxbow Wetland Restoration

Environmental Design Group developed and performed grant writing, planning, detailed design, hydrologic modeling and educational graphics for this unique wetland feature. We also assisted the city with the successful Ohio EPA grant application to pay for a portion of the design and construction.

Provided the City of Fairlawn with detailed watershed analysis and development of alternative solutions for their stormwater and flooding problems. Alternative solutions such as, restoring the floodplain capacity of the stream, stream restoration techniques, constructed wetlands, control structures to provide reduced peak flows, and bioretention/rain garden features. Individually and combined these features have enhanced water quality and reduced peak flow volumes for the Pigeon Creek Watershed and the City’s downstream neighborhoods.
