Charles Mill Lake Park Water & Wastewater Infrastructure

Charles Mill Lake Park is a quiet park, with most of its park facilities overlooking a relatively undeveloped 1,300 acre reservoir lake. This calm and largely tree-lined lakeshore make this an excellent park in which visitors can explore and enjoy the natural environment through camping, fishing, and hiking. The park is under the jurisdiction of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD), a political subdivision of the State of Ohio. Environmental Design Group was selected to assist MWCD with implementation for their $47 million Capital Improvement Plan to the 3,300+ acre Charles Mill Lake Park Reservoir.

Environmental Design Group assisted MWCD in an overall park-wide evaluation and prioritization infrastructure and site improvement engineering study. The first step in the plan was to design and construct the water and wastewater infrastructure backbone that will allow the rest of the site improvements to be built. The planned improvements were developed to bring the park up to date with new and improved facilities and expanded recreational opportunities. Environmental Design Group designed the water and wastewater treatment plants, and during bidding and construction we responding to RFI’s, reviewed equipment submittals, provided input and oversight during construction, and assisted in the close-out process.
