Charles Mill Lake Park Campground Redevelopment Phase I & II
Surveying, civil engineering and landscape architecture services, including construction documents for the installation of site hardscape, earthwork, utilities, stormwater pollution prevention and landscaping were provided. Construction details and specifications were developed and services included permitting and coordination with governmental agencies.
Charles Mill Lake Park is situated on 2,000 acres in Richland and Ashland counties. Redevelopment of the main campground at Charles Mill Lake Park was divided into three phases, with each phase being sequenced to minimize disruption to the current guests. Phase 1 encompasses 9.83 acres and includes 79 renovated campsites. The area of Phase 2 is 7.35 acres and includes 66 sites. The renovated campsites included new parking pads and upgraded electric, water and sanitary. Additional landscaping was added to provide privacy and a natural aesthetic. Roads were refinished and new shower/restroom facilities will replace existing facilities. The proposed grading was designed so there was no net fill below the spillway elevation as per U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requirements.
