The Towpath Mounds—Cuyahoga County Towpath Trail Stage 3

This third-stage project of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail provides multi-modal connectivity through Cleveland’s historic Tremont neighborhood. The shared use path is paved, 10’ wide, and ADA compliant. Steep slopes throughout the study area were a constant challenge when designing for complete ADA accessibility as well as meeting AASHTO/ODOT design standards for vertical grades, cross slopes, sight distances, and horizontal and vertical clearances.

Environmental Design Group provided engineering and detailed design services for the shared-use path, trailheads, plazas, nodes, green infrastructure, environmental regeneration and enhancements, along with landscape architecture, earthwork and grading, SWPPP and erosion control, landscaping, surveying, right-of-way plans, and ADA accessibility design.
