IMPACT

We help local entities effectively plan, propose, and implement projects that improve the water quality and address increased peak flows within the Pigeon and Wolf Creek watersheds.

Pigeon and Wolf Creek Watersheds

Environmental Design Group has provided services to City of Fairlawn, City of Barberton, City of Norton, and Copley Township. These services include stream rehabilitation studies, watershed analysis, nonpoint source implementation strategic (NPS-IP) plans, recommendations of flood mitigation solutions, several stream restoration and wetland creation projects, stormwater master plan updates, grant, funding, and phasing of implementation and watershed studies.

We worked with the Cities of Barberton and Norton to perform a preliminary flood study of the Pigeon and Wolf Creek watersheds as part of the Wolf Creek Stream Restoration project. The study was performed to determine if mitigation strategies could aid in reducing peak flows within the watershed. Out team provided recommendations that included additional modeling needs, dam modifications, acquisition of properties, and finding locations for the addition of storage and flow control devices. The project included an engineer’s conceptual opinion of probable costs.
